Tis the Season

Home Improvements

We spent some time making some improvements around the house.  First, we started off by painting the kitchen.  It was yellow. Then, there was quite a bit of open space above the trash can.

So, we devised a plan to utilize the space a little better.  It got the microwave off of the counter.

Next, there was some wasted space above the refrigerator as well.  So, we added a shelf.

Cass also wanted to add some color to some of the other rooms.  She wanted a dark blue behind the the television.

She wanted a bluish gray for the adjacent wall.  The kids and I worked on it (I think it took more time to prep the drop cloths than it took to actually paint the wall).

This is the best picture of the living room at the moment.  That is the OU and WV game on the television.

The boys got to choose what they wanted for their Halloween party.  Andrew wanted pizza.  Matthew wanted watermelon.  We had some trouble finding watermelon.  So, we improvised.

While Grandpa was in town last weekend, he watched the kids while we went to Las Vegas for the night.

We are actually in a gondola inside of the Venetian.

Cass got on the mechanical bull.

To the Buffet

We went to the "Big Boat", as Andrew calls it, and had the buffet.  Then the kids fed the fish and ducks.

Dinner Time... Kind Of

Scorpion

Got up from bed to get a drink of water and in the middle of my bedroom floor was a Massive Scorpion! I am not sure how Brandon slept through all of the; squeals, yelps and oh sh!ts. After throwing 3 pairs of running shoes, a pair of slippers, a Kleenex box and waiting about five minutes. I removed everything I threw and stomped on it again (if there’s anything I learned from Zombie Land its “double-tap”)
Needless to say……… I am no longer sleepy

 

And now (because I’m a bit nuts) and think there’s a trillion scorpions just waiting to get their revenge on me for killing one of their own this is what I’m sporting

And yes, I am thinking about sleeping with them on

The boys were in a very good mood this morning. They both did a dance that Madi taught them, called the "jellybean".

I decided to change things around. Again...  This page has changed quite a bit over the years.  Originally, I was hosting it on a small linux box at home.  Then, I moved it to a free web host.  Next, I moved it to free hosting offered with the domain registrar.  The domain registrar decided that I wasn't eligible for free hosting any longer.  So, to another solution I went.  This version of the blog has actually been live for a couple of weeks now, but I had some problems with Google and their ghost DNS entries.  Google had high jacked (actually it was a corrupted entry) www.themobleys.net, and I had to enable, disable, publish, unpublish, add, and delete until I was able to find the correct service that was causing the problem.  I finally sat down and took the time to correct it this morning.

Cass coached both the girls' softball team and Andrew's tee ball team this summer.
